Ludic Labs was founded in 2006 by a group of Silicon Valley veterans who have worked at companies such as Apple, Silicon Graphics, Inktomi, Sybase, and Endeca building products and services for companies such as AOL, Yahoo!, Nike, and many more.

Brian Totty

Brian Totty, Ph.D. is CEO of Ludic Labs, a startup venture developing a new class of applications to engage consumers with great businesses. Dr. Totty was a co-founder and VP R&D of Inktomi Corporation, a pioneering internet technology company. He has also held strategic positions at Foundation Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm, Silicon Graphics Computer Systems, and Apple Computer's Advanced Technology Group.

Dr. Totty is an expert in Internet, multimedia, graphical UI, and high-performance computing. He is an award-winning educator and author of a definitive reference book on internet technology. Dr. Totty holds a B.S. in Computer Science from M.I.T., a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MPA in strategic leadership from Harvard's Kennedy School. He serves as an Advisor, Director, or Investor to ten startup ventures.

Paul Gauthier

Paul Gauthier is the CTO of Ludic Labs. Previously, Paul was co-founder and CTO of Inktomi Corporation, a pioneering internet technology company. Paul invented and developed Inktomi's search engine, the first commercial search engine based on distributed-memory parallel computation, allowing it to scale with the rapid growth of the Internet. Paul's work lives on as Yahoo! Search, the world's #2 search engine.

Paul is a celebrated entrepreneur and expert in consumer internet products and businesses. He is an advisor or director to several internet startups. Paul has an MS in Computer Science from the University of Washington.

David Gourley

David Gourley is VP Engineering of Ludic Labs. Previously, David was co-founder of Endeca Technologies, the leader in guided navigation technology. David served as executive-level CTO of Endeca for six years, where he led product management and development, secured venture funding, drove technical sales strategy, and drove customer traction to 250+ enterprise and consumer clients.

Prior to Endeca, David was on the founding R&D team at Inktomi, where he built Inktomi's search engine (now Yahoo! search) and Inktomi's Internet infrastructure caching technology, which led to a ground-breaking IPO in 1998. David is a respected expert in massive-scale internet service infrastructure, holds numerous patents in Internet technologies, and is a published author of a highly-rated technical reference book. David holds a B.A. in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.

Ed Haslam

Ed Haslam is VP Marketing of Ludic Labs. Ed is a strategic marketing executive with substantial experience in networked communications and computing. Ed has been the founding marketing executive of two venture-backed technology companies, responsible for launching the product, company, and brand, along with developing the channel to market, and overall corporate strategy.

For the past decade, Ed has served in leadership roles at high-profile networking and database companies, including VP of Product Marketing for Orbital Data, VP Product Marketing at Composite Software, and Director of Product Management and Chief Strategist for Inktomi Corporation. He also held product management positions at Red Brick Systems and Sybase, and has served as a consultant for numerous startup projects and venture capital firms. Ed holds a B.S. in Structural Engineering, an M.S. in Systems Engineering with a focus on Geographic Information Systems and locational data management, and ABD in Operations Research from Purdue University.
